Hi Regina,

I must admit that Iwas very skeptical when I signed up for this class. I never quite saw what the hype was about with Yoga. I am pleasantly surprised, I really enjoy your class and hope you continue to teach more classes. There is something you say at the end of every class, could you tell us what it means?

Hi there!

Thanks for responding. I think blogs are great for questions, thoughts and I like informal, stream of consciousness approach.
I'm glad you are enjoying the class. I feel motivated to dig deeper in thinking about how to communicate which is very creative and challenging. At the end of class we say "Namaste" which is hello in Hindi. The ancient Sanskrit meaning is something like I honor the divine in you, I see the light in you, I salute the divine in you something like that. When I first started taking yoga classes, I thought people were saying, "Have nice day." Then the English teacher in me thought, "Why are they leaving out articles of speech?" I of course inquired about the phrase myself.

See you on Wednesday.

Hi! I took a yoga class this morning with Bobbie Ellis, of Soma Center and as always, I manage to get an idea or take note of the what she says. Today was a challenging class; we were doing mostly balancing poses. I could feel the sweat and concentration from eveyone around and by the end of class, everyone was exhausted. Before we went to corpse pose, there was a laughter and lightness in the room. Bobbie commented that how opening up the body, lightens the spirit. I don't remember the exact words, but how true that is. The mind/body connection in yoga is so powerful, and the deep concentration and focus does pay off to a healthier outlook. I'd like to honor that in all of us; there's nothing like good, honest work to cleanse and lighten the soul.

What are your thoughts?

Hello Regina,

A few weeks ago, I took your "Yoga from a Dance Perspective" class at Yogaphoria in New Hope, PA. I absolutely loved it. Can you send me your notes and or class details/sequence? I would love to do these exercises at home.

Hi there!

I haven't blogged for awhile, but today I gave another jazz/yoga workshop and although turn out was not big, but better than last, I am getting some good feedback from the participants, and I'm also connecting more of the relationships between yoga and jazz dance. Today isolating the rib cage, proved to have a connection with yoga twists and how and where to begin the movement in a twist. Combining yoga and jazz is a way to let go and move in new ways.
